In Factis Pax is a peer-reviewed online journal of peace education and social justice dedicated to the examination of issues central to the formation of a peaceful society - the prevention of violence, political challenges to peace and democratic societies.Social justice, democracy, and human flourishing are the core factors which highlight the importance of the role of education in building peaceful societies.

Fuad Al-Daraweesh is a PhD student majoring in Philosophy of Education at the University of Toledo. His interests are peace education, international relations, politics, and philosophy.

Laura M. Hampton is currently pursuing a Ph.D in Theory and Social Foundations of Education at The University of Toledo, Ohio. She holds special interests in non-violent resistance movements, ethnographic qualitative research, critical pedagogy, as it applies to peace education, and issues concerning Arabs and Muslims in the United States and the Middle East, particularly Palestine. She has an MA in Special Education and a BA in Biology, and as such her social justice interest areas are diverse in nature.

David J. Ragland finished his MA in International Educational Development specializing in Peace Education from Teachers College, Columbia University in May 2002. He has recently taught at Washington University in St. Louis and Philosophy of Education at Hofstra University. David studied Philosophy and Education at Teachers College, Columbia University and is now at the University of Toledo working on his Ph.D. in Philosophy of Education focusing on Peace Education.

Da’ad is currently a public school teacher and working on her doctorate in social foundations of education. Her research interests include trends in public policy within the education field and women’s studies, with specific research interest in the hijab, a Muslim headscarf.

Alexander Wrege is a faculty member at The American Language Institute of The University of Toledo and a doctoral student in the Judith Herb College of Education. He is currently working on a Ph.D in Philosophy of Education and Peace Education and is in charge of the web presence of In Factis Pax. His areas of interest include the philosophy of education, applied linguistics, and educational technology. Wrege is a member of Al Gore’s The Climate Project and gives presentations on the climate crisis to audiences in the region. He also maintains a website at alexwrege.com.
